<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide contacts capable of being arranged in multiple lines on the cavity of an insulating housing and suitable for a high-density electric connector by folding contact tail nearly perpendicularly to the face between a hold section and a contact spring section in the contacts for the electric connector having the hold section, contact spring section, and contact tail. SOLUTION: In contacts 36, 38 for an electric connector formed when a metal sheet is planked and folded and having a hold section 52, a contact spring 40, and a contact tail 56, the contact tail 56 is folded nearly perpendicularly to the face between the hold section 52 and contact spring 40. The contacts 36, 38 can be made thin as a whole and arranged at a high density in multiple lines. The face of the contact tail 56 is folded perpendicularly to the face of the hold section 52 at its root 57. The face of the contact tail 56 is made practically perpendicular to the plane including the contact spring 40, an intermediate section 46, and the hold section 52.</p> |
