PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric porcelain composition and a dielectric resonator, having a low dielectric constant and a high Q value when measure at a frequency of 10Ghz and capable of improving burning conditions. SOLUTION: A dielectric porcelain composition comprises 60 to 99.9wt.% main components, such that when its composition formula given in the mole ratio of metal element oxides is xMgO.yAl2 O3 .zSiO2 , (x), (y) and (z) meet 10<=x<=40, 10<=y<=40, 20<=z<=80, and x+y+z=100, and at least one kind selected from among La, Pr, Nd, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm and Lu, for a total of 0.1 to 40wt.% in terms of oxides. A crystal phase consisting of at least one kind selected from among La, Pr, Nd, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, and Lu, and Si should preferably exist. |
