A fabric softening composition contains a first nonionic surfactant which has a head group bearing at least three hydroxyl groups and is preferably from carbohydrate source and a lipophilic aliphatic tail of 10 to 40, especially 16 to 24 carbon atoms, plus a second nonionic surfactant of HLB not above 7, which may incorporate an aliphatic chain of 10 to 40, especially 16 to 24 carbon atoms. |
