Lifting by suction of articles, e.g. fruit preserve bottles, distributed in horizontal layer

The device lifts by suction an assembly of articles (A) which are distributed in a horizontal layer (C) of constant height. Each article has an upper edge (P) with a closed contour delimiting a cavity (E). The device comprises a plane deformable rubber plate (4) the dimensions of which are sufficient for it to be applied against the articles. This plate is passed through by several holes of sufficient number for one of them to be directly above the cavity of an article at the time of the plate application. Each of the holes is connected to a vacuum chamber (2) through flexible bellows deformable in a direction perpendicular to the general plane of the plate. The free space between the bellows is occupied by a pressurised fluid (AC). The vacuum chamber is separated from the bellows by a non-deformable partition (24).
