The at least one, preferably sliding casement or leaf (7) is driven by a drive motor which in turn drives a transmission belt (21) joined by a carrier (25) to the casement or leaf. A locking mechanism locks or releases the leaf or casement. A movably mounted tie-bolt (42) is electrically operated and or mechanically operated by means of an emergency control with hand lever. The tie-bolt or a transmission element (43) co-operating with it directly blocks the transmission belt in a locking position.
