An assembly controls the upward gear-change process in an automotive automatic gear box. The assembly releases a first selector pin from its location, and then engages a second selector pin. The first pin is moved in relation to the hydraulic pressure in a first passage, and the second pin is moved in relation to the hydraulic pressure in a second passage. A pressure storage reservoir is incorporated in the first hydraulic passage. The pressure storage reservoir has a counter-pressure opening with a regulator valve and inlet, and a second opening to a counter-pressure shaft, and an outlet to a third opening. The valve is operated in accordance with first and second operating pressure levels signalled. The first operating signal is generated by the pressure in the second passage, and the second pin is activated by a motor load-dependent signal. The regulator valve switches from the first position to the second position when the pressure difference between the first and second signals reaches a given value.
