Oscillation dampener has piston and dampening medium passages fitted

An oscillation dampener has a working cylinder filled with a hydraulic or pneumatic dampening medium. The cylinder is sub-divided into two sections by a piston (1) moving back and forth on a connecting rod. The dampening medium flows via adjustable valves (5a, 5b) which are accessible from outside. The piston (1) and one or both of the dampening medium passages is fitted with a back-flow prevention valve (4). The dampening medium flows only one way through the adjustable dampening valves (5a, 5b).
