FOOD HANDLING DEVICE

A device for the protection of the users fingers and palm against smearing and soiling or discomfort due to the effects of heat and cold when gripping food articles. The device consists of a strip (1), of a resilient, insulating material which has an arched form when in the resting position. At the ends of the strip (1), there are casings (5 and 6), for the encasement of a thumb and either the index finger or middle finger of the users hand. Ridges are provided (11), to enhance the grip of the fingertips onto the engagement utensil. There are projections (12), to enhance the device's grip on the food items surface. To grip, the fingers are inserted into the casings (5 and 6), with the middle part of the strip (1), resting against the palm, whereby the food can be gripped using a normal gripping action.
