Steering wheel and airbag module fastener for steering shaft of motor vehicles

The device has a unit with threaded end section, fastened to a steering shaft. The unit has a steering wheel fitting (10) with hub (34) for non-turnable fastening to the steering shaft, an airbag module with inflator (15), a carrier to support module and inflator on the steering wheel fitting, and a cover for all components. A rotatable fastener (30) presses the unit axially onto the steering shaft and has a part that meshes with a threaded end section of the steering shaft. The unit has elements to support the fastener relatively rotatable to it. The fastener has a driven part to turn it in a direction relative to the unit, around the axis of the steering shaft. The driven part has a worm drive.
