The truck has a drive unit (1) and a fork unit (2) with the fork unit having two lifting forks and two floor supports with rollers (5) at the ends. The drive unit has two wheels (11,12) which are steered and with one wheel drive. The battery (8) is mounted between the two wheels and takes up the available space between the wheels, the rear of the truck and the bulkhead separating the drive unit from the forks. The battery support floor is lower than the support arms under the forks and the battery can be pulled out from the rear face of the truck. The battery is supported on two parallel struts (16).
