DEVICE FOR MONITORING POLLUTION CAUSED BY MOTOR VEHICLES IN AN URBAN AREA

The invention concerns a device for monitoring pollution caused by motor vehicles in an urban area. It is characterised in that said area is provided with a set of urban equipment items, each having data acquiring and processing means (11, 21) and means (12, 22) for communicating said data to a central unit (30). Said monitoring device comprises at least an item (10, 20) of urban equipment further equipped with at least a detector (13, 23) of a characteristic amount of pollution, capable of supplying to said data acquiring and processing means (11, 21) a measurement of said amount. The invention is applicable to the detection and the prevention of pollution caused by motor vehicles in urban environment.
