Method for preserving the performance characteristics settings of a wireless terminal

To preserve the performance characteristic settings of a wireless terminal (KE2') operating with several wireless telecommunication installations (PISN1, PISN2), a performance characteristic status file containing current settings dealing with the performance characteristics of the terminal (KE2') for wireless telecommunications installations is introduced in a performance characteristic profile database allocated to the wireless terminal (KE2') in a mobile radiotelephone network (PLMN). Current performance characteristic setting, at least when modified, are transmitted to the mobile radiotelephone network (PLMN) and updated in the database. The performance characteristic profile is set by changing the area in the emission/reception area of a wireless telecommunications installation (PISN1, PISN2) depending on the performance characteristic status file of the wireless terminal (KE2') stored in the mobile telecommunications network and transmitted to this wireless telecommunications installation (PISN1, PISN2).
