The table has three support legs (4) which are swivelable relative to the tabletop (1). The support legs have castors (10) located at their lower foot section (9) which is supported on the floor (5). The support legs are provided with an expansion mechanism (6,7,8) which enables them to be simultaneously expanded and fixed in a desired position, so that the height of the table is adjusted. The movement for height adjustment is coaxial with a central, vertical axis (2). The expansion mechanism is arranged on the central axis and consists of an adjusting member (6) which has a linearly movable support element (7). The support element has articulated connecting rods (8), one for each leg, with pivot points (25) so as to form a knee joint transmission.
