The assembly comprises a support plate which is placed into position and is fitted with thermal insulation, spacers for the cast concrete, etc.. The concrete is poured over the fitting and when set forms the floor with the plate. No shuttering is required and the concrete can be poured as soon as the plate is placed in position. The plate has a size and shape for the particular floor and its strength is determined by the width of the unsupported area under the floor.
