Coupling device for use with hose

The hose coupling has one coupling with an outer ridge and with a profile which locates inside the other coupling. The other coupling has axial arms with the free ends shaped with retaining claws. These provide a snap coupling to grip behind the ring on the other coupling. Axial ribs (34) guide the coupling sections into the coupling position. The axial ribs prevent lateral distortion of the coupling and prevent leakage through the distortion. The ribs can be located into slits in the ring on the other coupling. The retaining claws are operated by an axial sliding control.
