Shock absorber device for railway waggon buffers

The shock absorber is provided to a buffer (3) that has a conventional buffer plate (4) mounted on a body (5). The body is moveable relative to a guide holder (7) on the buffer board (2). The absorber consists of shock absorber elements (19) that are located on the buffer board near the buffer, which in turn is fastened to the board via rated breaking fasteners (10). These separate the buffer from the board when it is subjected to an impact, and permit its movement against the shock absorber elements. The shock absorber elements consist of honeycomb-shaped metal bodies (20) of a light metal, e.g. aluminium, or aluminium alloy; of elastomer material, or of a hydraulic cylinder.
