Activator for saddle slide of brushing machine used in machining of metallic surfaces

The activator has a drive shaft with its rotation being mechanically converted (10) into a two-way movement of the cross-slide (15) by a shaft-fitted cam (11) moving in a plane parallel to that of the workpiece. The cross-slide is hinged in the cam centre and runs in parallel rectilinear guides (16), in the saddle slide (S) so as to run at right angles to the slide. Uniform and regulated cam rotation is obtained from a drive composed of an electric motor (12), step-down gear and regulator (14), all arranged coaxially relative to one another. The eccentricity of the cam can be regulated by screws in order to modify the swing of the saddle slide to exact requirement.
