PURPOSE:To prevent inhibition of urethane-forming reaction to be caused by, e.g. deactivation of catalysts in producing a polyurethane foam contg. graphite as a flame retardant, by compounding a thermally expandable graphite contg. an alkaline earth metal and specifying the pH of an aq. dispersion of the graphite and the graphite content in the polyurethane foam. CONSTITUTION:In producing a flame-retardant polyurethane foam contg. thermally expandable graphite as a flame retardant, a graphite contg. an alkaline earth metal and giving a pH in 1% aq. dispersion of at least 4.5, pref. 4.5-8.0, is compounded in an amt. of 5-30wt.% based on the polyurethane foam. |
