Use of a dry extract of St. John's wort

Treatment of radiation-, infection or chemical-induced organ and tissue damage, especially of the small intestine, bone marrow, thymus, spleen and lymph nodes, liver and kidneys as well as of general immunosuppressed conditions, in human beings and animals comprises administration of a dry St. John's wort (Hypericum) extract. An oral medicament in the form of a granulate containing dry St. John's wort extract and calcium carbonate and saccharide is also claimed.
