System for activating per:oxide in e.g. detergent or disinfectant solution especially at low temperature

Use of a system of a substituted succinic anhydride of formula (I), yielding a peroxocarboxylic acid under per-hydrolysis conditions, and bleach-catalysing transition metal salt(s) and/or complex(es) (II) as activator for especially inorganic peroxygen compounds in oxidation, laundry agent, detergent or disinfectant solutions, is new. R = 1-17 carbon (C) aryl, alk(en)yl or cycloalkyl. Also claimed are laundry agents, detergents and disinfectants containing this system and a method of activating peroxygen compounds by adding the system.
