Refrigerator providing higher temperature storage volume recessed in base

The refrigerator has its compressor, condenser and cooling fan in the base, and a vegetable storage volume, formed in the floor of the refrigerator liner, subjected to the condenser cooling airstream. Attached to the inside of the door is a deep storage box formed in two sections which covers a significant part of the opening of the base volume when the door is closed. The compressor and condenser heat exchanger of the refrigerator are cooled by a fan (10) at an opening (11) above the plinth board (12) of the installation. A vegetable storage container (3) is formed into the floor section of the liner (1) in the airstream. The mouth opening (OE) extends to a depth (T1) from the door but the storage capacity is not reduced by this amount since a door-mounted storage container (4) covers a large part of the opening to a depth (T2). The door-mounted container is in two parts to different heights (h1,h2), the smaller section (6) being suitable only for small items while the larger section (5) has moulded buttons (8) engaging holes in the door liner and is supported on a rib (7).
