The protection cap (1) has a web (6) covering the end side circle or circular surface of a tube or rod (5). Also at least one collar (2) adjacent to the end side ring shaped inner and/or outer surfaces of the tube or rod, which grip over at least the part section of the inner or the outer circumference of the pipe or rod; after the fitting of the cap (1), the ring shaped surface of the cap facing the rod or tube ends is at least partly fixed at a distance to the ring shaped surface of the end of the tube or rod, by one or more elastic elements (7). The elastic elements (7) are arranged on the ring shaped inner surface of the outer collar (3) of the protection cap (1), facing the ring shaped outer surface of the end of the tube or the rod (5). An inner collar (2) is provided, facing the ring shaped inner surface of the end of the tube. The outer surface of which is adjacent to the ring shaped inner surface of the end of the tube (5).
