Multicoloured enamelled article production

Production of an enamelled article, by application and firing of enamel powder to produce differently coloured enamelled area portions of a base body, involves: (a) enamelling the areas in the form of individual separate area elements (1); (b) assembling the enamelled area elements (1) on a base plate or in a frame (4) to form the entire base body; and (c) bonding the elements together and/or to the base plate or frame (4). Preferably, the area elements (1) consist of cast iron, the joints between the elements (1) are filled with a jointing material and the elements (1) are bonded by means of a tile adhesive. Also claimed is an enamelled article with a base body having several differently coloured area portions forming a motif, the base body having a number of individual enamelled portions.
