The device is controlled by external forces, or by parameters derived from them, without partic., esp. manually operated, control elements, so as to perform translation, rotation and combined movements in a plane or in space, esp. in proportion to the magnitude and direction of the applied force. Sensors (3,4) convert the amplitude and/or direction of the applied forces into electrical signals which are processed by a suitable processing mechanism to enable the control of the device, esp. of one or more of its drives (1,2).
