Granulating apparatus for producing small cylindrical granules from powder or paste material includes a fire mixer for the starting materials, the deaerated materials being supplied to a screw extrusion head covered by a sieve plate, a cutting device being placed in front of the sieve plate, as in NE 6710216. The cutting element consists of one or more taut wires capable of being rotated or swung in a plane as close as possible to the front of the sieve plate (11). The use of rotating or oscillating wires for cutting the extruded filament material enables granules to be produced with a smoothly cut face perpendicular to the axis of extrusion. The granules obtained have a uniform shape and are without deformation. The length of the granules can be exactly predefined to any desired size. |
