<p>A connector (10) comprising a first body member (12) for connection to a first entity, and a second body member (14) for connection to a second entity. The body members are coupled by a first coupling arrangement (16) on the first body member and a second coupling arrangement (58) on the second body member, said first coupling arrangement comprising a plurality of discrete segments having respective segment surfaces which together define a formation engageable with a formation of the second coupling arrangement. A support means (40) normally retains the segments (16) in respective connection positions on the first body member (12) in which the respective segment surfaces collectively form the first coupling arrangement (16). A release means (62) is selectively operable to disable the support means (40) to cause the segments (16) to be displaced from their respective connection positions so that they disengage from the second coupling arrangement (58) and thereby mutually disconnect the first (12) and second (14) body members.</p> |
