The invention concerns the production of porous moulded bodies by sintering a mixture of powdery thermoplastic polymer and a liquid whose boiling temperature is at least equal to or greater than the sintering temperature. Sintering is carried out in a mould and the method can be carried out continuously. The method is suitable for producing porous moulded bodies, such as pipes, plates and the like which can be used as filter, gas-absorption, ventilating and coalescing elements, as intake elements for oil, and as carriers for active substances, etc.
