Antimicrobial compositions, especially for injection, comprise an antimicrobial agent and histaminase. Optionally, other enzymes, e.g. cysteine-oxidase, glutaminase, lipase, propeptinase, peptidase and chondrosulphatase may also be included. Specified antimicrobials are: allyl-thiocyanate, allyl-isothiocyanate, allyl sulphide, diallyl sulphide, benzylthiocyanate, sulphonates, sulphoxides and halosulphoxides, nitrophenols and nitrocresols. Penicillin may also be included.</p> |
