Dehydrogenation catalysts comprise (1) from 0.002% tO 50% of a Group 1B metals or oxides thereof (2) from 0.005-5% of Pt and Pd group metals or oxides or mixtures thereof, components (1) and (2) being deposited upon the surfaces of a thermally stable Al 2 O 3 catalyst support material of surface area at least 10m<SP>2</SP>/gm., an acidity factor not in excess of 2.0, a macropore volume of at least 0.05 cc./gm. Additionally the catalyst may contain combined alkali metal, e.g. Na 2 O, K 2 O or Li 2 O. Examples describe the preparation of CuO-Pt on Al 2 O 3 .</p> |
