The apparatus has an input unit and an output unit with a monitor, esp. for a navigation system for displaying routes. The monitor is arranged in the dashboard area (6) in the field of view of the driver. The monitor (5) is foldably arranged on the upper side of the cover of the dashboard (6). Preferably the monitor (5) is arranged over the rim of the steering wheel (8) and parallel to it. The monitor (5) may be folded away from the driver (7) or towards the driver. Operating knobs or buttons may be provided around the monitor or the output unit (4) so that they can be operated by the driver using the hand on the steering wheel. |
