Vented ostomy pouch with protected gas filter

The pouch has a connector joining the first and third walls, of the pouch, together at a point of connection spaced below the upper end of the pouch and above the gas vent. The connector comprises a spot weld joining the first and third walls together at the point of connection. The spot weld is located along a vertical midline of the pouch extending from the upper end downwardly below the stoma-receiving opening. At least two of the gas vents are provided in the third wall and are located on opposite sides of the vertical midline below the spot weld.
