Software test process control system and method (510) include a test controller (532) which receives test cases (540) checked into a version control system (12). The test cases are tagged with a unique label indicative of a specific version and release of a software product. A load built from source modules of the software product and the tagged test cases (540) are then downloaded to a test device. Test results (550) are received and checked into the version control system (12) and stored in a predetermined directory (442).
