Prepn of catalysts for oxidn of naphthalenes

The catalyst is composed of silica gel, vanadium pentoxide and potassium pyro-sulphate, and the carrier particles of these substances are heated in a fluid bed to 300-400 degrees C. The silica gel and glass particles are pre-heated and are continuously taken to the foot of the fluid bed and drawn out from the upper face of the bed.
