Wort containing solids in suspension is passed upwards through a bulk of slurry so that the solids are trapped in it. Specifically the wort may be fed into the heart of the slurry so that a bulk of it above the wort traps the entering solids. Flocculation may be encouraged before clarification by the addition of flocculating agents and/or by changing the temp. of the wort. |
