<p>Low viscosity mixture consists of terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol in molar ratio 1.6/1-1/1. The terephthalic acid consists of at least 10% of ave. dimension determined by its retention on a sieve of mesh X (where X = 48-150 (0.295 mm-0.104 m) and at least 10% have a size small enough to pass through a sieve of size X + 100 mesh (0.103 mm - 0.061 mm). The ester mixture gives easy manipulation for prodn. of polyesters and also is very economical.</p> |
