摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix liquid crystal display device that can improve display quality by preventing generation of raggedness on a surface of a pixel electrode in spite of being an active matrix substrate of a color filter layer-built-in type, and provide a production method therefor. SOLUTION: In the active matrix substrate, a TFT, color filter layers 13R, 13G, 13B formed by an ink jet method and a pixel electrode 4 are formed on a transparent substrate 20 is this order from lower layer side. The pixel electrode 4 is composed of a sputtering ITO film 4A on the lower layer side and a coated ITO film 4B on the upper layer side and is conductivity connected with a repeating electrode 49 via a contact hole 131 having a large aspect ratio of the color filter layers. Since the coated ITO film 4B has an excellent level difference coating property, the surface thereof has no raggedness.
