PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent unfixed toner on an intermediate transfer body successively superposed and transferred from an image carrier from scattering. SOLUTION: The time from a time when the surface of the intermediate transfer body 51 is electrified to a specified potential to a time when the body 51 rotates at a rotational speed 10(cm/s) and the potential V of the body 51 obtained after one second is lowered to V/e((e) is base of natural logarithm; e=2.71828...) is defined as τ (second), and the rotation period of the intermediate transfer body obtained in the case the toner image of plural colors on the image carrier is successively superposed and transferred to the intermediate transfer body at a first transfer position is defined as T (second). The body 51 is provided with characteristic by which the relation of T<τ<500 (second) can be realized. |
