Aragonite containing a major proportion of crystals visible under the optical microscope is prepared by (a) removing crystal poisons from saccharose, (b) dissolving calcium hydroxide in an aqueous solution of the saccharose, (c) reacting this soln. with CO2 at an elevated temp., and (d) separating the precipitated aragonite. |
