PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the operation for switching to a target scale without looking at a screen by informing a user of the scale changing the scale to sound when a user changes the display scale of a map. SOLUTION: Map information is read out of a map information storage medium 5, and a map based upon the map information is displayed on a display 9 by specifying arbitrarily a scale among plural scales, when the scale of the map displayed on the display 9 is switched, since the scale is informed by changing the scale to sound, different sound depending on the scales can be heard in accordance with scale switching operation and the selected scale can be known through an ear without viewing a scale selection menu on the screen. Consequently, the chance that a driver neglects to gaze at the front by turning its eye on the display 9 during a drive is reduced and a traffic disaster such as an inattentive driving can be reduced. |
