PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the composition of the isotope of oxygen or hydrogen contained in an aqueous sample housed in a vial by a method wherein a hole which is opened by inserting a gas sampling means and which is closed by pulling it out is formed in a vial closing device. SOLUTION: The tip of a gas sampling means 11 (a needle) is sealed, a hole 17 is formed in its wall part, and a gas can enter the needle. The lower part of a hollow-body member 3 at a vial closing device is closed by a plate having a hole by which the inside of the hollow-body member 3 communicates with a vial 1. The hole is sealed airtightly by a vavle set 7 and a valve element 8. When the gas sampling means 11 is inserted, its tip presses the upper part of a valve spindle 9, the valve element 8 is displaced from the valve seat 7, and the gas advances to the inside to the hollow-body member 3 from the vial 1. When the gas sampling means 11 is pulled out, a spring 10 returns the valve element 8 so as to close the hole, and the flow of the gas is prevented. The vial 1 and the closing device are used to automatically analyze a gas sample. |
