PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make path guidance of high utility according to the vehicle mounted with a navigation apparatus, or according to the driver who drives the vehicle. SOLUTION: The running difficulty of our vehicle about the guided paths retrieved in path guidance by a navigation unit 130 is decided by a difficulty decision measure 160, and the guidance format such as displaying colors on a display 110, etc., is modified by a guidance format modification measure 170 according to the level of the difficulty. The necessary width of the vehicle is calculated by correcting the apparent width of our vehicle registered by a vehicle specification setting up measure 140 using the each ratio (a turning characteristic) of length/width, wheel base/length, and minimum turning circle/ width, further the demanded width of the vehicle of the vehicle-person combination is calculated by correcting the necessary width of the vehicle based on the driving skill indicated by a number of years for getting a driver's license, etc., then the level of the difficulty is decided by the ratio (a difficulty index) of the demanded width of the vehicle to the road width from a map information storage measure 120. |
