PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ion counter that is enhanced in the stability of a measured value by installing platelike counter electrodes around a collector rod so as to be separated by a separator and covering the collector rod or the collector rod and the counter electrodes with an antioxidant such as gold or the like. SOLUTION: Two platelike counter electrodes 7 are arranged on both sides of a collector rod 2, and a filler 9 as an insulator such as a ceramic, polyethylene or the like is housed in a hollow. In this case, the separation of the collector rod 2 from the counter electrodes 7 is kept constant by insulating spacers 8, and the members are housed in a cylinder 12. Then, an ampere meter 5 is connected to the collector rod 2 by using a conductor 10, and a DC power supply 4 is connected to the counter electrodes 7 by using a conductor 11. Then, at least the collector rod 2 out of the collector rod 2 and the counter electrodes 7 are plated with, gold for oxidation prevention. Consequently, the stable accuracy of dimension of the separation distance between the collector rod 2 and the counter electrodes 7 can be ensured, and an electrically stable surface property is obtained. As a result, the stability of a measured value is improved.
