PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely detect the reflected light quantity of a black toner image and surely perform the image density correction thereby when a detecting toner image is formed in test mode, the density according to the reflected light quantity is detected, and the image density is corrected according to this detection. SOLUTION: A black toner formed on a photoreceptor 2 is transferred onto a transfer roller 24c formed with a tone other than black in test mode, and a toner sensor 24f for detecting the formed toner density is arranged near the transfer roller 24c. The density of the black toner image transferred by the transfer roller 24c is detected by the toner sensor 24f, and according to the detection result, an image density correction is performed. Even when the black toner is transferred, the transfer roller 24c can reflect the light according to the adhesion of the toner since it is formed with a tone other than black, so that a precise density detection can be performed. |
