PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a drive circuit from abnormal voltage and current due to a load, and to improve its reliability. SOLUTION: Scan electrodes 5 and common sustain electrodes 6 are wired alternately and parallel to each other on a panel part 1 of a plasma display panel, and further, address electrodes 4 are wired perpendicular to these electrodes 5, 6. The scan electrodes 5, common sustain electrodes 6 are driven respectively by scan drive circuits 7 and a common sustain circuit 8, and the address electrodes 4 are driven by address drive circuits 2. Then, a protective resistor 3 is provided between the address drive circuit 2 of small capacity easy to be damaged by the abnormal voltage and current and the address electrode 4, and the resistance value of this protective resistor 3 is made several 100Ω, and the abnormal voltage and current are reduced, and the matter affected by this protective resistor 3 is nearly eliminated when the device is operated regularly. |
