LOCK DEVICE FOR UPPER AND LOWER DOORS OF VEHICULAR REAR PART

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simplified lock device for a vehicular rear door by installing a bell crank device. SOLUTION: This lock device is formed out of an upper door 2 and lower door respectively mounted on the rear part of a body 1, an upper striker 4 attached to the lower end of the upper door 2, an upper lock device 5 mounted on the upper part of the lower door for the engagement of the upper striker 4 upon the closure of the upper door 2, a lower striker 46 attached to the rear side of the body 1, a lower lock device 31 mounted on the lower door coming to be engaged with the lower striker 46 upon the closure of the lower door, an outer handle mechanism 28 for the lower lock device 31, a clutch engagement and disengagement mechanism 32 for the lower lock device 31 installed on the outer handle mechanism 26, a key cylinder 29 and a bell crank 21. In this case, the bell crank 21 joints the upper lock device 5, the clutch engagement and disengagement mechanism 32, and the key cylinder 29 to one another respectively via rods 24, 27 and 30, so as to release the upper lock device 5 upon the operation of the key cylinder 29 for the engagement and disengagement of the clutch mechanism 32.
