<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To joint a branch pipe to a main pipe within a short time and at a low cost, by stopping frictional motion after a joint part is melted by frictional motion under a condition that the pipe end part of the branch pipe consisting of a thermoplastic resin is confronted with the peripheral part of the main pipe, and cooling and solidifying a fused part. SOLUTION: The pipe end part of a branch pipe 1 (middle density polyethylene pipe) is confronted with the peripheral part of a main pipe 2 by using a frictional jointing device, and a motor 7 is rotated. This rotation is transmitted to the branch pipe 1 through a gear 6, a belt 5 and a chuck 4 with a gear so as to rotate the branch pipe 1, and also the branch pipe 1 is pushed and pressed to the peripheral part of the main pipe 2 by an air cylinder 9. Then, after a faying surface is melted by frictional motion by rotation, frictional motion is stopped, and a melted part is cooled and solidified, thereby a joint pipe that the branch pipe 1 is jointed to the peripheral part of the main pipe 2, can be obtained. Hereby, the branch pipe 1 can be jointed to the main pipe 2 within a short time and at a low cost.</p> |
