1,224,371. Processing photographic film units containing a rupturable pod. INTERNATIONAL POLAROID CORP. March 7, 1968 [March 10, 1967], No.11194/68. Addition to 1, 224, 372. Heading G2A. A viscous processing liquid contained in a rupturable pod is spread between the sheets of an integral film unit of which the pod forms a part by passing the film unit through two pairs of rolls in sequence, Fig.3, the first pair of rolls 50 preventing any air that is between the sheets 12 and 14 from being entrained with the processing liquid 18 and limiting the advance of the liquid, and the second pair of rolls 46 moving the processing liquid between the sheets. The film unit has binder strips sealing the sides and the end of the unit which may have traps for excess liquid. In a preferred embodiment, sheet 12 is photosensitive and contains a dye-developer, sheet 14 is transparent and is an image-receiving sheet and the processing liquid is white and opaque so that on exposure and processing a colour image is formed which is viewable through sheet 12 against the white processing liquid.
