PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily set optimum image forming conditions for transfer paper and to prevent x, troubles such as image failures and a paper jam even if various kinds of paper are used by providing reading means to read an identification mark prior to formation of an image and determination means to determine the identification mark read, and changing the image forming conditions according to the information determined. SOLUTION: When paper different from normal paper, such as OHP paper, is used as transfer paper, an identification mark is printed on the transfer paper or a seal-like identification mark is stuck on the transfer paper. The identification mark contains information about the thickness, material, etc., of the transfer paper, or specific information about image forming conditions such as the optimum fixation temperature and speed of the transfer paper used, etc. A reading part 3 is the part to read the identification mark when the transfer paper passes through it, and may be sufficient to have optical reading means if the identification mark is a bar cord. A control part 1 performs control to vary the image forming conditions of the transfer part 5 and a fixing part 6 according to the identification mark determined by a determining part 4. |
