PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily manufacture an optical mulitpelxer/demultiplexer or an optical branching/coupling device and to make defective products of them small. SOLUTION: An optical waveguide core part 3 having curvature is formed by being exposed to a substrate surface 11 on an optical wavegudie substrate 1. Similarily, an optical waveguide core part 4 is also formed by being exposed to a substrate surface 21 on an optical wavegudie substrate 2. A coupling area 5 is formed by overlapping the optical waveguide core part 3 and the optical waveguide core part 4 at center parts of them each other while overlapping the substrate surfaces 11, 12 of the optical waveguide substrates 1 and the optical waveguide substrate 2 each other. |
