The surface-modified fillers according to the invention are manufactured by treating oxidic or siliceous fillers with a silane of the formula R1R2R3Si-X1-(-Sx-Y-)m-(-Sx-X2-SiR1R2R3)n and are used for the manufacture of rubber vulcanizates, particularly tyres, with reduced dynamic damping and favourable abrasion behaviour.
